Diana Shone
Diana is interested in the link between human life and the changing seasons. The patterns and colours of decaying weeds, dried grasses and wild flowers hold great resonance for me. I use dyed and textured fabric in layers to give greater depth with unexpected marks and shadows. Recently, I have been machine stitching line drawings on fine voile mounted in transparent frames to suggest the fragility of delicate hedgerow plants.
Kate PhilbinKate is exploring a number of ideas in stitch focusing on the human figure and aspects of being human: some of my pieces have a narrative thread and others interpret life drawings into stitch. She is also interested in abstract concepts, with layering and decay featuring in my pieces.
