I am exploring
the possibilities of bead-weaving, combining the different bead
finishes that reflect, absorb or transmit light.
I work with the dynamics of colour and shape, and the harmony
and rhythm of pattern. Colour, design and pattern should be
acknowledged in their own right, without the need for any symbolic
value. My aim is to combine contemporary design with the language
of ornament that has developed over centuries. |

Recently,
I have drawn inspiration from the geometric shape and juxtaposition
of colour used during
the Art Deco period, which itself drew upon many diverse cultural
