I often draw inspiration from places that I love, including canals, beaches and the Isle of Skye. The images that I find fascinating range from the texture of a rusty tin roof to forms found on the shore. I am interested in textures and shapes, particularly those found in the natural world. Following on from some work I did based on eroded rock surfaces, I am exploring the texture, shape and colour of shells.

I am often drawn to circular forms and organic, curved lines. My background is in patchwork and quilting, but I enjoy exploring different textile techniques and mixed media, such as painted, printed and distressed surfaces. I also have an interest in altered books.
